is largely determined at birth.

Hair direction is much like a fingerprint.
While hair may temporarily bend with styling,
the direction in which it naturally emerges
from the scalp does not change.

Generally, hair grows from the crown toward the front.
However, at the hairline, some hairs may grow upward or
against the natural flow. While this is medically harmless,
conflicting hair directions can reduce volume, expose the
scalp, and make styling more difficult.

Although the natural direction itself cannot be changed,

모류라고도 하는 모발 방향은 태어날 때부터 정해져 있습니다.

어떻게 보면 지문과도 같은 것이지요. 간혹 모발이
길들여지는 과정에서 꺾여 자라나기도 하나 모발이
두피에서 나오는 방향은 변함이 없습니다.

일반적으로 모발 방향이 머리 뒤쪽 가마에서부터 앞 방향으로 자라게 자리를 잡고 있는데 간혹 헤어라인에서 방향을 거슬러서 올라가는 모발 방향이 생기기도 합니다.

의학적으로 문제가 될 건 없지만 모발 방향이 충돌하여 붕 뜨는 느낌이 생겨 두피가 더 잘 비쳐 보이며 미용상 헤어 스타일링이 어렵습니다. 모발 방향을 바꿀 수는 없으나 경우에 따라 해당 부분을 덮어서 가려줘서 헤어 스타일링 쉽게 도와주게 됩니다.
